http://www.avsim.com/pages/0310/SibWings/O1.htmI'm not a real pilot, but I'm more than astonished how controverse this plane's flight dynamics are discussed between flightsimmers and especially real pilots. In this review we read "Realistic and accurate flight dynamics", except a remark for "spins" while in other forums including Sibwings we read totally different opinions like "bad FDE", "not realistic at all" or "not flyable" (real pilots' opinions)As a "home pilot" I do not understand why real pilots have such a different opinion concerning this aircraft's FDE.What is right and what is wrong, has she good FDE or does she have bad FDE that needs improvement?GreetingsDieter

Hi Dieter,I think you're right that we often see quite polar opposite views with regards to flight dynamics for flight simulator addons. I also think that people are quick to dig in and defend their position and are reluctant to give any ground. I won't do that! For my part, I found the flight model to be really well crafted, certainly extremely enjoyable. There are indeed a couple of 'quirks', some of which I alluded to in the review (spinning characteristics in particular), but overall I found the model to be particularly rewarding.I would encourage you to have a look at a range of reviews in order to form a view (sounds as though you have done this). This will allow you to weigh up where on the spectrum any particular individual review is; is it overly critical, or overly praising, does it 'sit on the fence'?I certainly try to be as objective as possible, but all reviews will be flavoured with subjective sauce to a greater or lesser extent; it is the product of an individual's experiences and prejudices afterall. I can say that I think this product to be well worth a look, it has a lovely feel about it and first and foremost it adds to my enjoyment of Flight Simulator, which is possibly the best testiment I can offer. With kind regards,Colin Hampson.

thanks for the review!.....from a more mundane perspective.....were there different versions or models of the bird dog?....this one seems very square, especially around the cowl...even the fuse, i thought was more tapered and rounded at the bottom.....could be my illusion though...
