Wx influenced snapshot selection in ASE

Featured Replies

How does ASE choose which category to select a weather-influenced snapshot from? Clear weather is obvious, but how does it choose between rain, stormy, overcast, and IMC when all of these conditions exist? When is universal used?Having just purchased REX 2, I'm trying to figure out the best combinations of REX textures to use with the different ASE weather-influenced snapshot categories. Previously, I had just used the auto snapshot extended integration feature with ASG.Thanks,Don S.

Hi,From the average conditions along a route. Nothing can change the textures once FS is started or have multiple sets of textures installed. So don't think that clear weather textures are used if it is clear at the start of the flight are going to change to say rain if it is raining at your destination.Universal is like a General category.

Thanks, Jim, but I guess I was not very clear in my question. Consider an example where the average weather is rain. If the average weather is rain, then it must also be IMC, right? And it might also be universal? How does ASE decide which snapshot to load? Is it always the rainy snapshot in this case, or is it randomly selected frrom rainy, IMC, and universal?Don

Hi,It's all based on some internal coding in AS. Remember, if you don't fully agree with the automatic selection, you can manually chose which snapshot to use.
