FTX Pacific North West - is it much better than UTX/GEX?

Recommended Posts

Wow. What a big response. Thanks for sharing your views everyone. I've just bought FTX PNW and it should be delivered in the next couple of days. All I have to do now is work out how to pay the rent this week...The mountain area just north of Vancouver is one favourite areas to fly, especially with Active Sky set to real weather - often when the clouds are very very low the valleys are like tunnels. Also (sorry but this is off topic) I've just bought a new Cessna Mustang from Flight 1. Click the link if you want to see pictures of the maiden voyage. www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=33993

I lived in the PNW for about 8 years, including in Port Angeles WA, Vancouver BC, Port Orchard WA & Bremerton WA, and on Texada Island (between Vancouver Island and the mainland). The Olympic Peninsula is fantastic. So for me, it's part personal, and jogs some memories for sure. Taking off our of Powell River BC and flying down to San Juan Island was a real pleasure. Orbx scenery is truly marvelous. I am on the fence on picking up the entire Australia CD (already have Blue, and Stephen has me talked into Gold, but the idea of having it all on one DVD with no license issues is intriguing. I need a little discount to nudge to the full product! One real special feature of PNW is how Orbx does night lighting. It is SOOOOOO much better than anything else I am aware of. One thing I dont' like about PNW are all the swaths of forest that have been clearcut--that, I'm afraid, was not Orbx doing!Noel
