June 6, 200223 yr hey, was just reading in my Airways mag the story about hte star alliance. can some one tell me, the only time a person can fly on the star alliance colored plane is when they book a trip with it. or does it not matter, and it's used for a regular plane.. I am still a bit confused.. and maybe some links! THANKS!
June 6, 200223 yr Marketing Genius....Actually, think of Star Alliance as a major airline equal to "Code Sharing". Your ticket may have been "written" by United and have UAL flight numbers but it actually Lufthansa that carries you. If you look at a flight board at the gate you may see something like:Air Canada Flt #423Also United Flt #765I believe each of the members of the Star Alliance has one airplane painted in "Star Colors" but the rest are in native airline colors. The "owning" airline will have its logo first followed by the remaining member's logo.Timothy(Marketing Voodoo made-up while you wait)
