Converting Flightplans for FMC

Featured Replies

Using PLN2RTE I'm trying to convert FS9 flightplans for use in the 737 FMC. It seems to convert the plans ok and I can see the files in the FMC, however I can't see the .rte files in C:Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS. My O/S is Windows 7.ThanksDon Whyte

An update:I changed the PLN2RTE output folder to My Documents/Flight Simulator Files and the output file showed up. I set it to the Desktop and the files can be seen there too. If I try to put it anywhere else other than a Document folder, such as C:, Program Files, etc I am unable to view the file. This must be something to do with Windows 7. I am the administrator of the computer and have View Hidden Files turned on in the Folder Options.I guess a workaround would be to have the PMDG Flightplans be the My Documents/Flight Simulator Files folder which FS9 uses for Flightplans but how do I change to that location?Don Whyte

Are you running FS as an Administrator?

Are you running FS as an Administrator?
Yes. Permissions for the PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS folder are also full control for Creator/Owner and Administrator.

I created a shortcut to the PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS folder on the desktop and for some reason I am able to now see the files. So problem solved, I don't know why.Don Whyte
