May 2, 201016 yr Good Morning,I have an EVGA GTX 9800 video card that I want to plug into a new i7 machine. Right now it's in my old computer. My question is, there are 2 power cables (6 pin connectors each) that run to the power supply. The layout of my power supply in the new machine is somewhat different, but still has those two power cables with the same connectors on the end. The trouble is, the connectors aren't keyed or differentiated on the old machine ("PCI-E" is stamped on both connectors that plug into the board), whereas on the new machine, one connector is stamped P10 and the other P11. That said, in both machines, either cable will plug into either connector on the card. They aren't keyed to prevent plugging the wrong connector into a given plug. So, how do you tell which cable goes to which connector on the card? I did look up a manual for this card, but even there they just tell you to plug the cables into the card. I'm thinking that means it doesn't matter which goes where, but that assumption could prove costly. Many thanks.
