If you have a registered version of FSUIPC, you can change the battery drain setting so that the battery never drains. There is also a way to fix this by loading the default Cessna 172 but I don't remember the exact fix. You could try doing a search or maybe someone else can post the instructions.

Because many of the systems are running outside of the sim. Do the radios work? Have you tried changing the FSUIPC setting?

Ahh, you never mentioned it was on the 600/700. Yes the 800/900 upgrades the entire series.
