Clouds do not Change

Featured Replies

I download weather in ASE then start FSX and the weather depiction is pretty much according to the Metar report. As my flight continues to another area with different weather, the FSX depiction does not change even though the weather gage indicates the different conditions per the nearest Metar report. In other words, if I fly from an area with scattered clouds at 3500' into an area with clear skies, there are still scattered clouds at 3500'. This has been a constant condition thru months of use. My ASE settings are:Checked Force Destination WX Zone and Enhance Route Coverage in general options.Checked Prevent Cloud Redraws in cloud options.CAVOK Cloud Generation at zeroNo Data Cloud Generation at zeroCirrus Cloud Generation at 14%Stratus Cloud Occurrence at 29%Download is initiated on the Historical page by applying Online Dynamic Data from date/time entered. As previously stated, this appears to initiate weather correctly, but the clouds never change wherever I fly. Precipitation and wind does change according to the nearest Metar report.

Hi,Experiment with the dynamic rate of change slider in ASE and see if moving it up changes anything.

Thanks. I changed dynamic rate of change from 50% to 100% and it made no difference. I took off with overcast at 1000', moderate rain, thunderstorms in area. The clouds were at 1000' (although at 2500' I could see the ground), there was moderate rain and lightning. I flew into an area with clouds at 13000'+ and light rain. The rain lessened, lightning remained and clouds remained at 1000'. In every case, I have allowed lots of time for things to change, but they don't.
