XP 32 fsx menu ctd from KB971513

Featured Replies

Update for Windows XP (KB971513)The Windows Automation API library contains the latest version of theMicrosoft User Interface Automation (UI Automation) and MicrosoftActive Accessibility libraries that are provided in Windows 7.It has taken me way too much time to figure out what this bug was coming from although it seemed much like the menu bug in win 7 w/ fsx. So it may be something in the "Active Accessibility libraries" that causes the CTD in 7.The way I have learned to make it happen is to fly around for over 15 minutes while triggering the menu periodically. Then re-load the flight. Fly around and trigger the menu and soon FSX crashes to the desktop.I have rebuilt the system and have made disk images as I went along adding things incrementally. I have now narrowed it down to this one update 971513.It is not essential so DO NOT INSTALL IT on any system you want to run fsx.May be related to the UIAutomationCore.dll fix I have seen people using for there win 7 64 systems that are crashing from the menu. This involves getting the vista 32 UIAutomationCore.dll and dropping it in the fsx directory. Which I think then overrides the win 7 version found in the windows directory. Not sure how much it has to do with our system spec but here it is...XP 32 (sp3) most all updates installed (dotnet 3.5.1, security and...)I7quad core 960 3.2hz 3 @ 9800 GTX+. 3 montiors running 2560*1600 and one runing 1600*1050.Acceleration (SP2) installed with 60cm photo scenery.
