May 23, 201016 yr HiSeem to be having a few problems with FS time. Looking at GMT, re:Local Times there seems to be a problem. Example: Given that EGLL will be GMT + 1 hour (Local Summer Time). If I then say, I go to EGJJ (Jersey) then what I see with the time differences is GMT + 2 hours, when infact I beleive it should be the same as EGLL. I have never seen this before.Just wondering if anyone can explain or help out. Many thanksTerry.S

May 25, 201016 yr Anyone able to shed light on the above ?I think that FS9 treats the Channel Islands - including EGJJ - as being within French airspace, which in a way they are (well within the Brest FIR, with all traffic handled from Brest when EGJJ ATC is non-operational). So local time advances by one hour when you cross from UK airspace - the boundary is at roughly 50 degrees N in that part of the channel. Not accurate, as the time in the islands, for aviation purposes or otherwise, is of course the same as the UK: UTC (GMT) or UTC+1 in the summer. I guess it was just a bit too much trouble to create an exception for the islands while keeping the surrounding French airspace on the right time. Or maybe more likely MS just assumed the islands were French, despite the EG- prefixes for the airports? I've noticed some of the other time zone boundaries are a bit out too. But I think all you've got here is an instance of MS glossing over a geographical curiosity. Unless you find it happens regularly / elsewhere, of course.

My understanding of times zones etc are not that great. Appreciate the replyMany thanks
May 27, 201016 yr Download the Timezone 3.0 files by Dennis Thompson here at AVSIM and put them in your scenery. Fixes a lot of the timezone problems in FS9/FSX. Also stops FS from changing GMT instead of local time when crossing timezones outside of the continental US. Devin CYOW

Is this the main scenery folder in fs? In the "Read Me" the author states to put them in their own folder which I take you can name what you like. i.e. Addon Scenery -"Time Zones" ?Thanks in advance

Create a "Time Zone" directory in your "Addon Scenery" folder. Inside the "Time Zone" directory, put only a "Scenery" folder (no "texture" folder). Then put the timezone bgl files in the scenery folder. So, you should have a tree like C:\FS9\Addon Scenery\Time Zone\Scenery with the bgl files in the last scenery folder. Then boot up MSFS and add the tree to your scenery and put it at or near the top of the scenery priority (mine is above the "aerial" scenery but below the "addon scenery" scenery). Then retart MSFS...should be good to go. Devin CYOW
