Tower View ?

Featured Replies

When using the MAP to move the tower for tower view, I have found most the airports with no tower icon. When there's no icon changing the altitude has no effect. Any ideas ?What makes this horrible, is it seems most the tower views are obscured by buildings and trees. Although I am thrilled for the most part, I don't like this aspect of FS9.Steve

It seems that most of the airports that I have started flights from in FS9 do not have the tower view located where the tower is located. Like you said, a number of the views are badly blocked by terminal buildings or other obstructions. However, I have found the tower symbol in the map view mode. It does not stay there.Until the new version of AFCAD arrives in October, I have done the following: 1. Go into slew mode and move to the tower location. Using the C172 usually works best since it is a smaller target. 2. Activate map mode and check the a/c location (lat/long/alt). Move to the tower mode and use the same lat/long/alt. 3. Slew the aircraft to a startup location and select the plane you want to fly. 4. Set up any other parameters that you want for your flight (weather, flight plan, a/c configuration, etc.) 5. Saved the flight. When you restart FS9 and select your saved flight the tower view should be correct and you have an airplane ready to fly as you like it.Hope this helps.Bob
