Strange Waypoint on ND...

Recommended Posts

On a flight from Orlando to Gatwick, while going through the Plan on the EFIS and FMC, I noticed that the VOR SAM on the ND looked very strange, is their any reason for this, this is the first I've seen this.Thanks-Lovetofly28

Hi "Ltf",You know, you should be posting your full name in your request to get a speedy answer. :( But to help you out, I looked at your screenshot and it appears the ND waypoint is a merge of 2 labels. When I zoom in on the ND you can definitely make out the name of the VOR being "SAM". but something is written over the top.Did u try taking the ND map off CTR mode? I bet that if you did this you'll see something a little better. At wordt case, It's a minor cosmetic issue.hope this helps.Regards,

Yep, I did all that during the flight and it didn't change. I think that it might of been the eta written over it. I was just wondering. :(-Spencer Hayes(Lovetofly28)

Just saying, if you think SAM is a peculiar name for a VOR, there are some other names: like 2 are JUICE and GOUDA, both near TNCM. Hmmm
