June 21, 201015 yr Hi Everyone - How can i turn OFF all winds and turbulance? In my Wind Options, all the sliders are at 0, and i have Disable Winds Aloft and Direct Wind Control both ticked. But when i fly in FSX, the plane still wobbles about all over the place.I read somewhere (i thinkg the ASE website) changing these settings in the FSX.cfg can help:MinVarTime=80MaxVarTime=80TurbulenceScale=0.300000...but this doesnt make a difference. Would purchasing FSUIPC and using the smoothing in that ALSO make a difference?Thank you for your help! :-) Adrian Burley London, UK
June 22, 201015 yr Author Hi,Do you have Thermal Generation and Downdraft Generation also turned off?Hi, Jim, thanks for getting back to me.Yes, i do have the settings you mentioned switched off. But my PMDG 747 is still showing winds are there.I dont know if this is related, but if i look in the Weather settings in FSX BEFORE i run ASE (with a flight running, from the World menu at the top), Wind Speed is set to None with the User Defined Weather button on. Once i start ASE, and check the weather in the same way, the wind is on about a quarter of the way along. Adrian Burley London, UK
June 22, 201015 yr Author Also, do you think you could let me know what those cfg file modifications are and what they do? And the ramp ones? Thanks again! Adrian Burley London, UK
June 22, 201015 yr Hi,Are you reading the winds from the Shift/Z display in FS?Any other software running besides ASE and FSX?Really not sure because they are not our recommendations on those FSX.cfg settings.
