July 27, 201015 yr Author I have not seen this issue before with simconnect in Windows 7, 64 bit. I installed Windows 7, 64 bit without a problem (clean install). The most important thing you should do whenever installing ANY software on Windows 7 is to disable the UAC (User Account Controls). I am fairly proficient with computer systems so I disabled the UAC on Day 1 of installing Windows and it is still disabled. If you know that FSX is a safe program to install (and it is), you do not need Windows 7 (or XP) attempts to protect you from evil software makers. With the UAC enabled, some FSX installation files may not be installed or required entries in the system registry will not be made. The user will then get periodic CTD's when running FSX or FSX will not operate at all. So, my recommendation is to disable UAC (goto your Start button, click on Help and Support, and search for UAC. Help will then tell you how to disable it). If you're worried after installing FSX and SP1 and SP2 or Acceleration, then you can reenable it but remember to disable it again if and when you install an addon to FSX.Best regards,JimThanks Jim,I went into UAC right after installing Win 7 and put the slider to the bottom-most position (unrecommended by Win 7, of course). I assume that is all that's required to do to disable UAC?Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.

Not even that uiautomationcore.dll error that a few people get occasionally...Best regards,Jim
