Is there anyway I can get rain to splatter on the windshield and then wiped off whenever the wipers come up? Sure would be nice!

It was common in FS9. In FSX only a few devs have managed raindrops on the canopy of add-on planes. A great example is the Lotus Simulations L39. http://www.lotussim.com/Cheers,Noel.
