August 7, 201015 yr Hi all,I have recently been having this fatal error problem on start up of the sim ( Blue loading screen). I decided to do a reinstall, problem still there. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall, deleting every thing to do with FSX, no addons installed, nothing. The sim worked. However, I then installed SP1 and the message came up. I can fly without SP1 thats okay but the PMDG 747 needs SP1 to install. Quad core Q6600 2.43 gb ram9800 gtx750 gb hardrive. Thanks,Zach
August 7, 201015 yr Did you uninstall SP2? When doing a reinstall - you need to do this first, then uninstall FSX, then clean the system, reboot, then start the reinstall process. After the base fsx is installed - fly one default flight, quit, then install SP1, followed immediately by SP2. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

However, I didnt install SP2 after installing SP1, I am currently doing the process again, (uninstalling everything) For a clean install, I will install SP2 after SP1. I read that you should open the sim after SP1 before SP2, to configure it or something.

I found that having had SP2 installed and running for a few days/weeks/months - that if I reinstalled FSX, ran it, then installed SP1 and ran the sim - it crashed, but if I installed SP1 and then SP2 straight after it - FSX ran perfectly. Don't ask me why - it just did. This is not just once, but a number of reinstalls. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
