Loss Of Lights

Featured Replies

Hey,I first noticed this when flying at night that the only lights that i can see are the Landing lights, logo light and the wing (runway turn-off) lights. My Beacon, Nav and Hi-Intensity don't seem to be working. They work fine on default aircraft and on The PMDG 747-400 & F and -8i & FPlease HelpOli Morris

Hi Oliver, If you have a PMDG aircraft as your saved default (is in the FSX window as plane selected when FS loads) then remove it. Make your saved default a C172 or some other simple default aircraft. They get corrupt and your seeing one example of what it looks like. Also, if you have REX2 installed and the above doesn't fix it, then run it's restore option and next time you load the textures don't load the runway light option (I think it's that, I'll double check and report back).Hope this helps,* If this doesn't fix it (1% chance it wont haha), then post your [Light] section of your aircraft.cfg. The only other problem is when someone tries to add more lights then FS will run.

Yep,The light section that you posted is the default so nothing wrong there. I have seen this issue a boat load of times, so if you added something I would recommend taking it away and testing. Most of the time it has ended up being a corrupt default (or saved flight in general occasionally, if your loading one, try not doing that). A handful of times it is because someone replaced the spot.bmp or something along those lines. What is the name of the file that addon replaced? It is most like the same issue you might see with the REX2 solution above. Hopefully you backed up your file. Of course I could always email you a backup if needed.

I'm not too sure what i added as I share the computer, one of whom i share with is very keen on adding multiple freeware addons. If it is one of those that has caused the problem i think it is going to be near enough impossible to locate. As i last resort i could un-install the whole fsx to clean up all of my folders then just re-install my addons.

Hey Oliver, Shoot me an email (click my face then look down on the left to send email). Send me your email address and I'll send you the image file. It's spotlight.bmp and goes in your FSX/Texture folder. Normally the runway lights I believe are the Halo.bmp but it's worth a shot.I wouldn't reinstall just for this. I'm sure we'll get it working or someone else will pipe in with a solution.

Long time no reply - been away for a while.Unfortunately PMDG support ticket people couldnt find a solution, its really frustrating as all my other planes lights work fine including the PMDG 747.Tried re-installing the Md-11 still nothing.I'm running out of idea'sWorried.gifwacko.gif

Did you ever email me for those textures I mentioned above? Did you follow everything exactly here? Not saying you didn't but many times people ask for help then don't try everything or just say they did. I have seen this three times since you started this thread and with each one it was a corrupt flight as described above.
