BSOD and Crash

Yeah I think it was the 1:1 ratio and low RAM speed problem my only crashes now are overclocking related. The CPU is great but I think my voltages are running too high for the overclock it's running at 3.46ghz but eating up 1.325v. This seems very high to me considering the recommended maximum is 1.34v and when I looked around other folks had their E8400s running at 4ghz with 1.25v. Is my chip a lemon or is there a factor I'm missing? (this is my first OC)The GPU is still my 9800GT which could stand for an upgrade but I'll hold off for a while since it does the job right and maybe I can pick up a 460GTX for less than $200 in a year or soOh and no I always run DX9 I haven't ever turned on DX10 Preview

Yea, I noticed the same thing on my old E6600 stock 2.4GHz and to get it to 3.4Ghz I needed Way to much Vcore. Either the motherboard isn't very good for overclocking or all the settings aren't what their suposed to be i.e. Speed Step and all the other settings, you could proably find a good tutorial online.Wow! I found something perfect for you they guy is even using the same board! If you can understand him?? : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkg6fz3sGTY

Hmm this is odd I set it down to 1.2375V like he said in the video and so far... it's running fine only using 1.216V. I'm not experienced in overclocking so my theory right now is that I began by setting it to 1.3V because I thought that would give it plenty of headroom but maybe when I set it there it used almost the limit. How can I tell for sure if it's not getting enough Vcore? Last time I gave it more was because my computer randomly shut down.

Download Prime95 and run the Blend test for 6+ hours. If it passes, you can even try lowering your Vcore, if it fails, you'll need more VcoreYou can also use Intel Burn Test or Lynx at maximum problem size (using all the memory)But make sure you monitor temperatures with Core Temp or Real Temp while you stress your system. I don't know what's the maximum safe core temp for that chip, But they mention 65ºC in that vid
