Hope for All

Featured Replies

Just a wee post to say there is hope for all to run FSX with PMDG add ons even on the puniest of machines. After a year of continual CTD`s with Vista 32bit I finally installed W7 Ultimate 64bit. Was still getting lots of Cream or Black screen CTD`s when accesing menus using Alt Key or flying over complicated scenery. Now heres the point after updating to latest drivers and a few well placed config tweaks, I can now run at a steady 24fps using PMDG MD11- 747 while using UTX, GEX, REX2.0 or FTX scenery on a 2.0Ghz core2duo laptop with fairly high graphics settings.Big%20Grin.gif A little patience and a lot of googling goes a long way people. Read the forums also, someone has usually had your problem so try differnt things remembering to back up your .cfg file before you do.You can check my specs at the bottom I did`nt even think it possible to run MD11 on less than 2.5ghz. As long as you don`t overload the FSB anything is possible and I`m not an IT proffesional. Self taught after getting really annoyed at all the CTD`s in FSX.I just hope my system will handle 737NGX whwn it comes or I will have to spend a fortune that I don`t really have lol:Hypnotized: Finally I`m new to the Avsim Forums although I have borrowed lots of advice before registering so feel free to say Hi Happy Simming peopleDouglas Reid
