Acceleration and Directx incompatability

Featured Replies

I've installed FSX from the Gold Edition and it seems to run fine, but after I install the Acceleration pack and try to run it I get an error message that the version of Directx is incompatable and the program won't start. I uninstalled Acceleration and FSX seems to be bak to normal. any thoughts out there.

You either have a marginal video card (like an older Intel embedded graphics) or your video drivers are outdated. The DX requirements changed between SP1 and SP2 (Acceleration is based on SP2) - I don't remember what exactly the change was (I think it was Shader Level 2 was required as opposed to Shader Level 1.x but not positive).Tim

Thanks, someone else just told me the same thing, so at least I now have something to try.
