September 13, 201015 yr I've recently bought the ASE and in the mid-flight i dun noe why the weather changes suddenly. For example first there was some clouds and a bit foggy and later the clouds and fog suddenly disappear. After 10 or 20 minutes it suddenly appear back again. It's unreal. Another thing is how to catch a hurricane? __________________ Core 2 Duo 2.66 (E6750), Asus P5K SE, Asus EAH 4670 1GB DDR3, 2GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate, FSX/Acceleration.
September 14, 201015 yr Hi,Please update to B596. Have your Dynamic Rate of change set to zero in ASE.Have the Hurricane option On in ASE and go to the proper area.
September 14, 201015 yr Hello,I've just changed the dynamic rate to zero and the cloud doesn't disappear anymore. But the wind direction don't change in the mid-flight. It only change for a few minutes after take-off and before landing. Is that cuz there are no weather station between the route? I just flew from RJBB (Kansai Int'l) to PHNL (Honolulu) and there were no wind changes in the mid-flight at the cruising altitude. (always 282 at 44knots) Can u give me some recommended setting for my ASE to look more realistic. I just bought this a few days ago cuz I got suggestion from some people from the forum and I'm new for this. Before I was using the FSX default real time weather. For the Hurricane issue I've checked the "depict Hurricane (FSX)" but still can't find the Hurricane. Now there are some hurricane in the real world.Thank you.
September 15, 201015 yr Hi,OK now move that slider to say 25% and see what happens. You are looking on the Map screen for hurricanes, correct? Right now Igor is showing due East of the Dominican Republic.AS is in FSX Mode correct? Zoom has to be 3000 or less on the Map screen.Did you update to B596 from our web site?
September 15, 201015 yr OK, I'll try moving that slider to 25%. About the update I can't find the update (B596). I only found the followings....Active Sky Evolution: In-Progress Beta (B611) - Download Now (BETA Version, Not Official)Interim Update 1B (B586) - Download NowService Pack 1 Official (B572) - Download Now
September 16, 201015 yr OK, the newest Beta is B611, which I didn't know about until after I wrote. You need to continue to adjust the slider until you get winds, but no drastic changes in FS.
September 16, 201015 yr I dun want a BETA version so should I have to update B586 instead? Or do I have to install both (B572) and (B586)? I still can't find the Hurricane and is that because I haven't install the update yet? About the wind issue do I need to check both "Create additional stations (FSX)" and "Enhance route coverage (FSX)"? And What r they? Thanks
September 17, 201015 yr Hi,Install B586 to see hurricanes.Yes, both of those should be On, but they don't have anything to do with your missing winds. I don't want to repeat what is in the manual about these 2 settings, but they help in oceanic/low number of stations flights and when you use a flight plan in ASE.
December 12, 201015 yr According to post 5 there are 3 upgrades. Does one of those include all three? Don't worry about SP2.ThanksJimCYWG
December 12, 201015 yr Hi jag,Are you asking a question or responding to this thread? I couldn't tell and want to be sure.
December 12, 201015 yr Sorry Jimbo Slice, I was asking a question. My name is Jim and they call me Jimbo Slice at work. I have what I think is ASE version 566, at least that is what it says on one of the DLL's. Anyways I was just wondering if I updated to 572 SP1 would that include the hurricanes and everything else except what is in SP2? Does that help?Jimbo SliceCYWG
December 12, 201015 yr Hi,No, you would need SP2. B586 was an interim update and is not available and B572 would not fix this issue.
