Crazy FSX wind shifts

Featured Replies

I noticed that the topic of drastic wind shifts in relation to weather programmes keeps popping up, unfortunately in many cases without a clear clue or solution. After searching this and other forums I finally came across this link: http://forums.simfli...p479798#p479798As clearly explained by Pete Dowson in the second entry of that tread, the cause of the wind shifts does not originate in the weather programme (ASA, ASE, REX) but in FSX. There is no perfect solution, just compromises like using global weather mode in ASA/ASE or wind smoothing (see for instance http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=7222.0 ) I would suggest to the developers of weather programmes to acknowledge and explain this inevitable shortcoming publicly. That would possibly save a lot of desperation.Boudewijn
