September 21, 201015 yr Can changing a computers operating software (ie windows Xp to Windows 7) affect the computers overclocked cpu? Appreciate your answers.
September 21, 201015 yr Probably not, but why take a chance?Make sure to revert to a none OC:ed and stable system before installing a new OS. Apply and test your OC after you have your OS and all drivers up to date.
September 21, 201015 yr Theoretically, a properly overclocked PC should give you no problems during installation. If the overclock is not entirely rock stable however, you may introduce errors during upgrading or installation.I would recommend to overclock only after installing the software just to be safe.
