October 6, 201015 yr I've been involved with several online multiplayer groups and still cannot understand the jitterbug issue: From a distance of, oh say a mile or so, a fellow player's aircraft will seem to be normally displayed. Then when I get up in close formation the other aircraft has the jitters. Kind of like it's really really nervous having me around. Only seems to occur sporadically so it puzzles me when it crops up.I am running Win-7 64-bit on a pretty good Core i7 box that doesn't seem to have any FPS issues (35-45) in multiplay or Free Flight. I notice these jitters on some MP hosted sessions and not on others. Last night it happened again when one of the guys hosted the session with a Vista 64 system. Is this a flaw of Gamespy or is it a function of various OS types? My friends who fly a lot of MP missions with LOMAC Flaming Cliffs say this is never an issue. Thoughts?
November 1, 201015 yr Simply put the better the frame rates the more lag click this link http://www.chocolatesoftware.com and look at the F&Q it explains more their. Another thing is frame rates the player sends data to the host for location speed heading etc there is a known bug in 04 and FSX that the faster the frame rate the faster the data send/receive. If the server can't receive as fast as the pilot sends it then it's going to lag the server and reduce frames wich will make the jitter as well a soulution would to tell all the people on the server to lock their frames to 25 or below wich is a known number to solve the.problem have fun :). November 4, 201015 yr OK, turning down the frame rates did the trick. I was running mine at 45 unnecessarily. Turned it down to 30 and all is smooth again. Thanks for the tip.
