GeForce 4 440MX 64MB

I Know that this type of card, does not support the water reflectiions in FS2004. But since FS2004, we have downloaded loads of drivers updates, and nothing still with the water problem. I would love to know if someone has any information, I have read so many tweaks for lots fo things, but had never found any that fix this problem. I'm desperate, really I am, and need any tip. By the way, if your tip will be "buy another card" please don't reply this post, that won't help, and all GeForce4 users already know it will be better to buy another, but some of us can't.Thanks in Advance!

Short of a pretty major rewrite of the graphics code for FS2004, us 440MX users will be eternally without water reflections. The directx calls that make the reflections cannot be supported by the MX cards. As depressing as it is, I've resigned to flying in a reflectionless world. And I seriously doubt that a patch will fix this. If only M$ would have created water textures for us that don't look so terrible without reflections!-Smitty

always been wondering why I didn't get water reflections. I also hope there will be a patch someday

You know, you might want to try one thing. There is a file in avsim's library called enviroment upgrade by Gerrit Kranenbarg. It's for fs2002 but it works in FS2004 (on dx8 cards, don't know about DX7). This might work for you as it did work in FS2002. I'm just trying to help you as I use to have a Geforce4 mmx card so I know how you feel though I hadn't thought about trying this when I had it. You might give it a try. BTW, the water reflections that comes with FS2004 is terrible. It's so bad I turn them off. So you're not missing out on much. Good luck!Tim
