September 10, 200322 yr Hello flyers: I did check to see if there was a Megascenery forum and didn't see one, so please forgive me or move me if there is one.I mostly fly single-engine prop-jobs, do touch-and-go's and relatively short flights. The reason for this question is that I rarely fly above 2000' above ground level. I live near KEWR and therefore am very interested in the upcoming NYC area coming out in early Oct. I think I read somewhere that Megascenery doesn't come in to effect unless you're pretty high (no, not that kind of high!)...like 10,000'. Is this true, or will I be able to enjoy much-enhanced scenery at my normal altitudes? One of the flights I love to do is KLGA to KEWR in major thunderstorms kissing the top of the buildings over Manhatten! Haven't cracked her up yet! Although I usually aim for 22L at KEWR, it depends on the winds whether I end up using 22L or 22R. I'm sure glad it's only a sim and I'm the only passenger! Thanks much for any replies,sj
September 10, 200322 yr Search the screen shot forum-I posted quite a few shots as did others in the last week. The scenery really glows or looks the best at 2500 ft. and up.Below that it gets somewhat blurry-but so does the fs default scenery.I rarely fly the sim above 6000 ft.-usually stay in the 3000-6000 range and it looks photo real.Megascenery does have a forum:http://www.computerpilotforums.com/megaforum/Take a look at TheFringes "my collection" of screen shots to get some ideas.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
