FS204 fails to display after hitting ALT-ENTER key sequence

Featured Replies

I have FS2004 installed on a Windows 2000 Professional machine with a 64MB ELSA GLoria II Pro (NVIDIA Quadro) video board. W2K SP 4 has been installed along with the latest version of DirectX 9.0b.After invoking the ALT-ENTER key sequence to reduce FS2004 for access to desktop icons, when reverting back to FS2004, all I get is a BLACK BLANK space where FS2004 was once being displayed. FS2004 will still show up within Task Manager, along with a .tmp file that also shows up in the Task Manager. This problem then usually wants to send an error report to Microsoft.I had no problems reducing FS2002 on this same machine. Currently, I can't access items such as ActiveSky wxRE to force updates and such with the display problem I've described above. What causes this problem and can it be solved?Thank you in advance for your tips, suggestions and errata!

I get the same thing... I discovered that the way to solve that without shutting down the game is to press Alt for the menu bar, which should still be visible, and change your resolution... The game should appear normally now, and you can change the resolution back to where you had it.

I find that if I minimize FS2004 while I am still in the setup screen and minimize, I can start FSMeteo or any othe program and be able to go to full screen on FS2004 without any problem. If I press the "GO FLY" button and try to minimize FS2004 while at full screen by pressing Alt Enter and minimizing, I can no longer get it back to full screen, but get the black screen also.I know this is a workaround, but it works for me.If anyone has a better solution, please post it. We would all be greatful.
