New Radeon dirvers, error message, and FS-ACOF freezing during load up

Featured Replies

I hope that someone may know how I should handle this. When installing the new Radeon drivers (after un-installing the prior ones, etc. as per ATI instructions), an error message appeared stating "Zero Display Service Error". The error message was qualified as "severe". I clicked OK and proceeded. All aps and other games/simulations ran fine except for FS-ACOF. Uninstalled, re-installed, same. The program stops loading after the scenery loading box. Un-installed drivers, FS, re-installed all - still same.Any advice would be most appreciated, FS-ACOF no longer operational and error message even when trying the install prior ATI drivers with which I never had problems in the past.P4 2.661GB RAMIntel boardWindows XP Home editionAll running fine, FS-ACOF was running beautifully. Many thanks,Patrick

? Smart Gart tab in display>Properties>Advanced: fast writes=ON ( default)? IF ON try disabling them. Other thought would be to try and go back to a restore point prior to when you installed the latest drivers.Hope that does some good,

Ed,Thanks for your input. Did not work.At a loss as to what to do since I do not know what the message implies. I am waiting to hear from ATI service and MS service. Once I understand what the error is, maybe I can work at repairing/updating.Will post if I do get this problem resolved. It is aggravating since FS-ACOF freezes while loading up and I have not be able to enjoy the simualtion for several days now. Thanks,Patrick
