PSPanels 737NG

Featured Replies

Hi AllI am relatively new to FS2004 (used to use a lot, had several years away, and have now come back to it in a big way...)I have downloaded a lot of freeware add on aircraf (POSKY and iFDG) and have really struggled to find panels I like.I mainly fly 737's and A319/20/21's on short routes, so most of the aircraft are of these families.I came across the PSPanels 737NG panel which I like so much I have installed on all of my POSKY 737's and all of my iFDG Airbus's.BUT...funny things are happening with the lights. When I press "L" on the keyboard, the lights just blink on and go straight off. When I use the overhead panel to flip individual switches, sometimes the lights work ok, with some aircraft, and sometimes, hardly any lights come on. For example if I fly in the dark, on some aircraft hardly any of the plane's fuselage is lit up, no lights on the tail etc...It does mention in the documentation about some light issues and amending the LIGHTS section of the aircraft's CFG file, but I find it difficult to follow. So my question is - has anyone else had problems like this, and does anyone know how I can resolve? Thanks

Hi, Bristol66. Look in your Programs/Microsoft/Microsoft/Games/FS9/Aircraft folder for the aircraft in question. In that folder, there will be a file called aircraft.cfg. Open it with notepad and save a copy to your desktop as backup -- MAKE SURE you save it with a .cfg file extension. Then follow Paul Scarret's instructions TO THE LETTER altering only the lines and values in the EXACT way he specifies. Then resave the file, again making sure you save as a .cfg file, (and NOT a .txt file) -- don't worry, the original is right on your desktop as a backup in case anything goes wrong.Close everything out now and start FS9, loading up the aircraft. If you did everything correctly, the plane will load as before and your light SHOULD work as they should.Congratulations! You have just made your first FS9 customization, and congratulations on finding Paul Scarett's fabulous NG panel.Good luck and HTH.

Thanks Trelane, that's really helpful - will try that when I get home and report back!

>>>>Programs/Microsoft/Microsoft Games/FS9/Aircraft I forgot to mention that your FS9 may be installed elsewhere depending on your operating system or personal configuration. The key folder you're looking for is the correct aircraft folder, inside the aircraft folder inside the FS9 folder.
