September 15, 200322 yr I'm a little frustrated over how I have my USB CH PEDALS treating me. I find it hard to believe that in a Cessna 172/182 that I am training in on MSFS that in the real aircraft I get such an out of control yaw when trying to keep the nose of the aircraft centered on the runway when taking off? Have I just note done an adequate job of tweaking the settings for these ch pedals? As soon as I go max power, I understand the aircraft will want to yaw to one side. So when I try to correct with adding opposite direction rudder pedal it just whips me to the opposite side of the runway, I try to correct that, and I whip right back. So My take off on the runway look like zig-zag-zig, when I lift off the runway is off to one side which make me have to correct in air when I'm practicing traffic patter touch and goes.I'm having a truck load of fun with MSFS, and utilizing the natural point head tracker with the pedals/yoke combo from USB ads to the realism. But I just can't get this rudder thing nailed down. Does a real aircraft whip one way, then whip to the opposite direction mid-air if you just left go of the rudder pedal? AM I apply pressure to the rudder pedals incorrectly?Thank you for reading!!
September 15, 200322 yr I think by default the sensitivity of the rudder is a bit extreme. Just barely touching the rudder causes the planes to swing quite a bit...more than I'd expect. I believe there is a way to adjust the semsitivity of the control inputs...whether that's in FS or in the CH control panel I can't recall. I need to tweak mine less sensitive too...
September 15, 200322 yr I found a post in the MSFS tips section here just now that I am going to try when I get home from work.
September 15, 200322 yr Most perfect airplane for depicting the takeoff roll in my opinion is the RealAir Cessna 182 file for FS2002. It is just about perfection with my Thrustmaster rudder pedals. Left turn tendency builds as does airspeed & then seems solid with right rudder during roll & climb. Others are varied in sensitivity, & FS9 seems more sensitive than did FS2002.L.Adamson
September 15, 200322 yr The TIPS Section had information on making this much much better for me:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...sg_id=145&page=Happy Flying!
September 16, 200322 yr Until I read the wonderful tip, I thought the CH rudder pedals were just about unflyable. The calibration in an exponential range with the aid of the CH Control Manager 2.20 is perfect.Thank you!!!
