September 19, 200322 yr Do you prefer one type of traffic (GA verse Commercial)more than another and would like to set your one on high traffic while adjusting the other so that your system can handle it? Well what I'm about to say just might be a way you can eat your cake and have it too. Let me give a little back ground history on the way this came about. With all the GA planes flying into all uncontrolled and controlled airfields now along with doing touch and go's I, being a love of the 172 and Jenny, wanted to set my traffic level to 100% to have all the great GA traffic but my system cant handle 100% GA and Commercial combined. I could disable Commercial traffic from within FS but then I kind of miss the heavies as well. Thinking ahead when UT gets up and running for FS9 theres no way my system would be able to handle 100% all traffic. So how do I get the best of both worlds well you can start by getting these files.ga_2004_m.zipifthen.zipTtools2The idea is to allow for one kind of traffic to always be there and the second kind of traffic to be adjustable to give you a total of what your system can handle.Add the GA 2004 flightplan file with Project AI or UT and you will get both GA and Commercial. Open up the ifthen program and look for either your GA planes or your Commercial planes. Then change the percentage to 1% from whatever it was with just one or the other type of traffic. Save, Compile and then you can use your FSAI traffic slider to adjust the type of traffic you least want out of the two so that your system can handle the load, you get 100% of the type of traffic you want and you still have the other type of traffic present. If this doesnt make sense yet let me use my example. First off I want 100% GA traffic but also want so Commercial traffic to the point that my system can handle it and not give up FPS. I start with the ga_2004.zip file because it has all the GA traffic in a great format and have rerouted any GA small planes flying in or out of major airports. I then open up the ifthen program and go thru the GA planes and change them all from whatever percent they were to 1% save and close. Then I add in Project AI packages. Compile and fly. Now the results are I will have all GA planes flying all the time as long as I keep my AI traffic slider above 1%. My Commercial traffic can now be adjusted by the slider with ever cutting back on my GA traffic. I slide it to 50% and I will get all the Commercial traffic that is less than 50% but will have all my GA AI traffic. This took me a total of 30 mins to do minus the adding the PAI files.Hope this helps to all those who want to customize there AI traffic so they can get the most out of it.NP
September 19, 200322 yr I'm bumping this because I feel it is a great thing to know and help give your sim the max in a very customized way. Does anyone else think that?NP
