September 22, 200322 yr Hi All.I wonder if anybody else out there using Just Flight's VFR Photgraphic Scenery has this problem. To get the best out of VFR realistically you should fly at about 2500ft in a Cessna (slowish plane) with visibility set to about 5 or 10 miles. It doesn't realy matter what kind of weather you have set as long as you follow the basic rules above. In FS2002 these settings worked perfectly and you could have an extremely realistic flight and even check out your own street.I have found in FS2004 that when you set the weather distance in customised weather setting to about 10 miles, rather than the distance view being shortened you get a mist effect which cuts down visibility radically. All colour gets washed out and can look rather greyish. If one goes back to the normal weather set say for a fair weather day, the distance automatically goes back to 60 miles and you cant reduce that at all.I hope thats clear, (no pun intended)Any solutions.
September 22, 200322 yr Yeah, I get the same washed out look too, it really spoils it now....I bought all four volumes for FS2002 and had it tweaked nice just like you. Now in FS2004 apart from the washed out look it seems to blur a lot faster as well if I'm flying something quick like the DreamFleet Cessna310, at least moreso than it did in '02...I've tried all the tips on the VisualFlight forums and some of them have improved the blurries a bit tho...not found a fix for the other prob. A shame really, because I've now taken FS2002 off my system having got the new sim tweaked just right in every other way...CheersDave
September 22, 200322 yr Same here DaveI took FS2002 off of my machine for the same reason. I had that going really well. Bit of a shame lets hope someone comes up with a tip.I seem to remember when I was in the fs2002 forum awhile back someone mentioneing a file that you could edit which would bring down the set visibility from 60miles to whatever you wanted. Thing is I can't remember what the tip was oe who sent it.Would it work in fs2004, as I say lets hope someone can help.
September 22, 200322 yr Author Well, I run the VFR scenery all of the time and get the misty effect in the distance but not immediately straight ahead or if I look straight down from around 2,500 feet or so.Apart from setting the sliders to try and get the smoothest performance from FS9 I am not a tweaker.I know that this post doesn't solve your problem but thought you might like to know that there is at least one person who does not have your problem.David
