September 24, 200322 yr Hi all I have just updated my computer for MS9 with an athalon 2.6 chip and a new Asus A7V8X-MX motherboard and a new Geforce5200fx 128 vid card problem is I cant see the 2d panel, if I go to the virtual panel it displays ok but no 2d panel just a black panel. I checked this problem in the known vidio issues which says it is a driver problem but I have tried the following Nvidia drivers with no success, 41-09 43-45 44-03 45-23 plus the driver that came with the card am I useing the wrong drivers, ie is there a geforcefx driver other than Nvidia as if I try to use an old nvidia driver like the 29-42 it says it can not find a Nvidia card on my system could anyone please help me with this one I am not very good with computer problems so any help greatly appreciated thanks and kind regards to all Mike
September 24, 200322 yr Since you upgraded to the new motherboard, have you installed the latest VIA chipset 4-in-1 drivers? I had similiar problems until I updated the motherboard drivers to fully support the video card AGP slot.Earl M Hilton"BlazeFytr"HC823BL"If you're able to tell others about your landing.....it was a good one!"
September 25, 200322 yr Hi Earl thanks for the reply I dont know about the via 4 in one drivers bit, do you have to do this when you buy the very latest motherboard? if not how do I go about updating the via for in one drivers thanks for your help regards Mike
September 25, 200322 yr Mike,Go to www.Viaarena.com and look for the latest Via chipset drivers. The Hyperion is what you are looking for. Download them to your HD somewhere and than install them as you would any other program. You may want to also reinstall DX9. Not always but I have found it to cure some issues.Bobby
September 25, 200322 yr Just have a look on your Asus cd that came with your motherboard. Click on via 4in 1 driver and it will install automatic. You load your ac97 sound and broadcom drivers from there as well if you havent done so already. If you dont have the cd you can go to the via.com.tw web site and download the latest hyperion drivers from there. Hope this helps.CheersGazBeaten to the punch again by the looks of it :)
September 25, 200322 yr Many thanks Bobby I will do that and hope it cures this problem will come back later and let you know if it does thanks again to all who helped I guess we would be lost without this forum its great to have it to turn to when you are in trouble thanks again regards Michael
September 25, 200322 yr I have experienced this problem along with blacked out FS loading screens and it happened when I updated my graphics card drivers with the latest from Nvidia. Strangely it only showed itself on the standard FS aircraft and not on the Flight 1 Archer.I had always used full screen mode but the blacked out panels reverted to normal ones when I switched to windows mode. I now use windows mode all the time with the menu and task bars minimised and I haven't seen the black panel effect since.I have read in some forum that windows mode is 'faster' than full-screen mode but I couldn't confirm that.Hope you find a solution that suits your system.
