So,how you set settings in ultimatedefrag2008,before starting defragmentation fs 2004???

Hello,I like posts about defragmentation .. :( Why ?Cause I can post about the "Myth of defragmentation"http://forum.avsim.net/topic/273128-ultimate-defrag/http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/showthread.php?t=88329

"When the PC World Test Center set out to determine the effectiveness of the defrag utilities in our set of suites, plus that of Diskeeper 8 from Executive Software, our analysts found no evidence that defragmentation enhanced performance. On a desktop system from the PC World office with a heavily used, never-defragmented hard drive, the lab conducted speed tests using a range of applications before and after defragmenting the drive with each utility. In the end, the Test Center saw no significant performance improvement after defragmenting with any program. This result flies in the face of the received wisdom that fragmentation hinders performance, though much older PCs (with slower and smaller hard drives) and heavily used servers may benefit more from defragging. We used to say that defragging would speed up a system, but with today's larger, faster hard drives, that no longer seems true. The PC World Test Center's tests reveal that defraggers don't actually improve performance. And Steve Gibson, president of PC consulting firm Gibson Research Corporation, confirmed our findings"
and all the money spend in vain in such proggies as "Ultimate Defrag"Think twice at what speed the HD needles work actually for seek infos on the HD and the rotation speed of the HD :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sz4VHCj2Hohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAVIdoN5YacA defragmentation is useless if your disk is not HEAVY fragmented (more of 50 or 60 %)This is difficult to obtain .. lol and even in this case you can hardly see a slow down in the normal operations. And it's no gain to use special functions as to put files in front or organize folders like it's possible with Ultimate Defrag....If you want use a third party defragger use one freeware like:Smart Defraghttp://download.cnet.com/Smart-Defrag/3000-2094_4-10759533.htmlYou will spare money for buy more paywares addon's :( Regards.bye.gifGus.
