Static sound and flashing panel......NEED HELP

Featured Replies

Guys, I need some serious help here. I'm having some major problems with ACOF. I just got it a couple of day, love it to death, but it's getting on my nerves. In any payware plane (PSS A330/A340, PMDG 737), I'm experience the stuff in the subject. At first the sound is good, but as soon as I switch to spot view there goes the static. In regards to the panel flashing, it happens. I'm new to all of this flight sim stuff, so I need you to bear with me and take it slow. These are my settings:Windows XP HomePentium 4 1.60 GHz256 MB of RAMNvidia GeForce 4 MMX 440

You indicate it happen with the Pay-ware addons. Does it do the same with the fs2004 default aircraft. If not, then you need to see if there are updates for the addons.Other things to consider are updated drivers for your MOBO's controller chips, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi; updated drivers for your sound and graphics adapter; update to directX9.0b.I would also recommend adding another 256MB (total 512) and replacing your GeForce 4 MMX 440 with a GeForce 4Ti 4200 128MB or FX 5900, if cash permits.W. Thanks for the reply. It doesn't happen anymore though, FSSound.dll seemed to clear it up. But all those upgrades are definitely in the future.

I had the same problem when I switched to spot view, but only with add-on planes that required FSSound.dll.It was suggested in another post that the problem lies with my sound card (SB Live) and my motherboard (VIA chipset). I had the latest drivers for my soundcard (which I got from the Windows Update feature) and DirectX 9.0b. What worked the best for me was to run dxdiag and set sound acceleration to the "basic" setting. I think it is set to "maximum" by default, but I am not sure.--Matt
