October 3, 200322 yr The thought came across my mind particularly for more classic commercial and general aviation aircraft about organizing upgrade kits. I don't know about all of you RFP fans who enjoy punching in a maximum of 9 coordinates to have to do it all over again without the option of saving anything. I would like to see a much more upgraded INS that can handle 99 waypoints all storable and identifiable as routes.Or what about an FMC? It would just be refreshing to maintain an even level regarding navigation options. I do not relish having to downgrade to VOR tacking in a 727 and then up to a sophisticated FMC in an A320.Regardless I suppose I could get used to long overseas flights in a 747 punching waypoints as I go with no option to accelerate the flight and run real time for 13 hours but that gets old very fast.
October 3, 200322 yr Author Well, as an RFP owner as well, I disagree. To each their own of course, but I appreciate the limited waypoint entry, crude autopilot, and, thank God, lack of an FMC that RFP provides. I guess I don't understand the point of your post. If you don't want to fly a 727, why are you trying to ? If you don't want to fly RFP, then why are you trying to ? I mean, the RFP package just recieved the AVSIM BRAVO ZULU award for "Best Commercial Aircraft"...sorry it doesn't hold enough waypoints for you....There are FMC-equipped aircraft available, so what is your point ? Finally, it has always been my opinion, that if you don't have the time or patience to flyfor 13 hours, don't fly 13 hour flights. Regards,Brian Doney
October 3, 200322 yr Hi, already done! head over to RealityXP and skim through their user files section, kits for (almost) everything. The RFP e.g. works very well with the RealityXP GNS530. Turn anticipation, auto course select... Extremely easy to install as well, as the default GPS can be replaced. Total install time, less than a minute.Edit: I do agree with Brian, there ain
October 3, 200322 yr Author Of course Uwe, as I said in my post, to each their own. I guess I just enjoy the fact that with RFP, as it is, you are guaranteed not to be bored...Also, with a plan loaded, you can always switch RFP to GPS nav.... Regards,Brian Doney
