October 4, 200322 yr There are none. But I would like for one of those there BETA TESTERS to come and try my machine. (FS9 is always full of surprises, never consistant).Especially the 3-Pers..to make my machine to operate as smooth as theirs!!??No offense, but I can have a half decent flight for 10-30 mins and then the machine bogs on appp. Kryist, I was gettin 24-40fps all along, even with the clouds...why the all of a sudden ..system bog..if it was hardware, why would it not bog right away?.MBWZA
October 4, 200322 yr Just a question-what do beta testers have to do with the fact that performance on your machine is not consistant?I was a beta tester-I tested and reported-lots of things. That is where a beta testers job begins and ends. Speaking generically as someone who has beta tested several other products (Pro pilot, FlyII, Reality xp,fs2004 among others)-just because a beta tester reports something doesn't mean that anything necessarily will go beyond the beta testers report. A software producer may act on a report, may ignore a report, or decide in the scheme of things that a report while valid justifies nothing being done for that version.I am sorry you have non smooth operations-like a beta tester you have reported it-and like a beta tester that is about all you can do. Hopefully, you can find an answer from all the helpful people on this board-but please don't blame beta testers! :-) If the pay per hour wasn't so good (free) , I am sure no one would do it. ;-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 4, 200322 yr Thanks for jumping in Geof.... I stand with you and your comments.... If they don't get the message thru regarding testing, nothing will. If people seek help, I'm all for it as long as there's no veiled blame assigned in the thread's title or text. But sometimes I suspect the nature of such posts is more to take a jab at us vs. the serious seeking of help vs. an issue....-John
October 4, 200322 yr Hi,Concerning what many consider to be a bug in the Autogen rendering...I would like to suggest that you rename the file 'default.xml' in the folder H:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9AutogenRename it to something like default.xml.orig (discovered by testing done by JimmiG, thank you JimmiG).This fix will not increase your FPS, but will hopefully keep it from going into the can as you are experiencing. At the very least I would recommend using the file 'fs9xml.zip' that's in the Avsim library. Renaming more completely eliminates the bug, but gets rid of some rural area objects such as Red Barns and Silos seen on farmland. The fs9xml.zip allows you to get the rural area objects and some others back. This bug is most noticeable in large urban areas. Or perhaps it is not a bug, but without the MSFS Development Team responding to this I don't not know how to be sure. But many people have applauded the results after implementing this fix, and the 'default.xml' file only accounts for around 5% of the Autogen, so go figure. I use the fs9xml.zip file myself because I want the rural area objects.Cheers, :-waveJim
