October 5, 200322 yr I don't do ILS very often (I do mostly VFR). However, does FS2004 differentiate between ILS categories? For example if the runway is a CAT I, will it like in real life NOT let you autoland? Or if it's CAT II or CAT IIIA/B/C, it will give you the option to autoland?I have a very very strong feeling that the answer is no, but I thought I'd ask anyway.Regards
October 5, 200322 yr I am pretty sure that FS2004 does not take into account the category of ILS approach.Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the majority of difference in ILS CATs simnply the redundancy, maintenance, and calibration of the aircraft and ground equipment? However unrealistic, I've successfully "autolanded" the PMDG 737 on CAT-I/II/III runways. It is up to us, the "pilots" to use the proper restrictions when performing ILS approaches.Perhaps the capability is there due to the simulator's "Land Me" option that allows less experienced pilots to have their craft automatically brought in. -Germ

Er, there hasn't been a "Land Me" option available since FS2000... :)BillAVSIM OmbudsmanFounder and Director,Creative Recycling of Aircraft Partshttp://catholic-hymns.com/frbill/FS2002/images/fartslogo.jpg
