October 11, 200322 yr I have a Dell XPS system that came with ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card. I would like to upgrade the drivers to version 3.8, however,I do not know exactly how to do this.1. Is it correct that 3.8 comes with an uninstall utility, to uninstall the old drivers?2. Is it advisable to uninstall the old drivers?3. Do the 3.8 drivers come with an .exe file which automatically installs the drivers?I am not a computer guru, and do not want to screw up my system trying to mess around with the Registry etc. At present, I run the FS9 in Windows mode to eliminate the flickering etc.I understand that the 3.8 drivers do not eliminate this flickering entlirely. Is this correct? What is the value of updating to 3.8?If someone would give me some instructions on how to install the 3.8 drivers,I would be most gratefull. Thank you.Stanner

Via the normal Windows de-install (software) menuDeinstall the ATI Control panel first (if installed) and than the ATI driver.3. The 3.8 driver IS an .exe itself; just run it and it will do it all. There are various opinions about whether the "flickering" problem is solved or not; as usual, it's probably depends on used resolution, exact type of card, etc. But since there are so many users that still have these problems with 3.8, you can safely assume that it is not fully solved yet :-)Value of 3.8: some claim better visual quality (how do they measure that ??), or better performance.I myself really can't tell the difference with 3.6/3.7My advice: if you are not comfortable with doing driver updates, and you are satified with you current driver (in spite of the "bugs"), then don't update to 3.8 yet, and wait for a release where most people in these forums claim that the problems are solved.Which is what you should do in general if FLightsimming is your hobby and not "tweaking your PC" :-)Rob
