Are Airbus panels fps killers?

Featured Replies

well i've just made a test.i start a new flight in my local aiport(poor scenery not to kill frames),the weather is fine, and frame rate is locked at 30 fps.i chose the B737,B747,B777,A320(from project airbus),A330(from PSS and POSKY) and A340 (from Aerodesigns).the boeing panels are standard microsoft panels.for airbus:-A320 Marciano's A320 Panel-A330 Default 777 then Marciano's A330 Panel for Posky, and PSS panel for PSS A330 of course.-A340 AeroDesign's panel.the test was quite simple:just a take off and a clim to 8000f with panel view most of the time.the results are:-with the boeing's panels the fps are at 28~30 all the time even when i switched the views(VC,spot..).-with the airbus panels the fps are at 18~25 for the panel view,a drop to 12~15 for VC view when available, and 28~30 fps in spot view.so my conclusion is that airbus panels make fps drop.the most significant was with the posky A330 which came with an default B777's panel.i made the test with the default panel, then with a "real A330 panel" from E.Marciano, and the fps were 5~10 less.i think someone has already post about that, but have you a solution?

Hey Luis. The Airbus gauges By Eric are very detailed and they do lower your frames when in VC mode. I'm not sure what your system specs are... but I personally can't fly the A330 on my P3 800. Unfortunately the POSKY forum is down....waiting for Andrew to come back and fix it.

my spec are:AMD XP1800(will be changed soon for an PIV 2.4Ghz or 2.6Ghz)RADEON 9700Pro1024 MO DRR.Win 2000 Pro.I remember that when i used PIC767(waiting for new release),the panel which was very detailed didn't drop fps like the airbus panel does.it's a shame cause i really like flying airbuses(A320 :) ).
