October 19, 200322 yr Many panels have autobrakes, with a position named RTO (rejected take-off). I thought it was designed to brake automatically if you abort your take-off. But it doesn't work this way. Maybe I missed something here...Any help ?Thanks !!Eric My Web Site
October 19, 200322 yr As far as I remember there are some conditiones to be fullfilled. Speed above a certain value (80 knots?) and then throttle full idle.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
October 20, 200322 yr As far as I remember, these conditions are not enough to engage autobrake. I did tests a long time ago so my memory may fail here... I'll test it again. Thanks for the info !!Eric My Web Site
October 20, 200322 yr Eric,Just did a test with the default B737-400. It worked for me at a speed above 80 knots. When I then set throttle to idle, the a/c started braking. This did however not work below 80 knots.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
October 20, 200322 yr Certain aircraft (panels?) doesnt care if the throttle is idle or not. One example of this is with the POSKY A330 V2 series and with the Marciano panel. RTO on that one and the plane will start breaking only at around 120+ KTS while throttle is going full speed.
