October 23, 200322 yr Hi all,I found that several runways in FS2004 are bumpy (e.g. WSSS). I noticed that the landing gear (especially nose gear) bounces during the take off run, but insome other runways this phenomenon does not occur.Does anybody notice this also?japangg
October 23, 200322 yr Yes, noticed it with Naples, (LIRN) the other day! I'm sure there are many others too.RegardsTimhttp://www.spottedantelope.com/bwomack/ima...aam-sim_sig.gif
October 23, 200322 yr Hi Guys,I think it is due to imperfections. I am not exactly certain what causes it. But I think it is caused by the sim graphically showing you as the area you are rolling on to be overlayed with tarmac/concrete, but it is not correctly overlayed and therefore you are actually rolling on an area that is bumpy open field! It's just a guess.Jim
October 24, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member If the bumpiness is caused by small elevation changes it is possible to write a flatten switch for the airport area. See Steve Greenwood's utility, which actually will be much more user-friendly in the near future:www.fs-traveler.com/flatten.htmlCheers, Holger
