Bumpy runways?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I found that several runways in FS2004 are bumpy (e.g. WSSS). I noticed that the landing gear (especially nose gear) bounces during the take off run, but insome other runways this phenomenon does not occur.Does anybody notice this also?japangg

Anyone know what causes it?

Hi Guys,I think it is due to imperfections. I am not exactly certain what causes it. But I think it is caused by the sim graphically showing you as the area you are rolling on to be overlayed with tarmac/concrete, but it is not correctly overlayed and therefore you are actually rolling on an area that is bumpy open field! It's just a guess.Jim

Dear all,Thank you for the replies.

If the bumpiness is caused by small elevation changes it is possible to write a flatten switch for the airport area. See Steve Greenwood's utility, which actually will be much more user-friendly in the near future:www.fs-traveler.com/flatten.htmlCheers, Holger
