November 23, 201015 yr After much internal debate - as someone new to MSFS - I have decided to stick with FS2004 rather than 'upgrade' to FSX. My reasoning is that I already have a pretty powerful PC and FS2004 runs well. I don't paricularly want to shell out a few thousand $ to build an FSX hot rod PC and, from reading I've done on forums and magazines, I should be able to get a pretty good boost in realism by investing in some new mesh, textures and landclass, at a fraction of the price that a new PC would cost. So, from the research I've done I'm looking to buy FS Global(mesh), GE Pro (textures) and Ultimate Terrain (landclass) - I hope I've got those categorised correctly. My question is: which are the latest versions of these which are compatible with FS2004? I've seen FS Global 2010 X, FS Global 2008. I've only been able to spot a FSX version of GE and Ultimate Terrain Europe for FS2004(maybe I'm not looking in the right places!)I also really want to be able to buy a CD/DVD version - some of those downloads are far too heavy for my bandwidth (I'm in Melbourne, Australia.)TIA
