December 1, 201015 yr Hello guys, I am looking for a panel mod of an additional camera display in 2d cockpit for Airbus A346 or B777 models. I have read that Ed Cox has done a panel mod but unfortunatelly I can´t find any aditional info about that as screens and links are no longer available. Have someone any information or idea how can I add this to my panels. Thanks for answers.Michal
December 1, 201015 yr Hi!I've done that before. This in fact is the nose-wheel camera for A380 by Robert Versluys: <Element> <Visible>(A:Circuit general panel on, bool) (L:EXTERNAL CAMERA SWITCH, bool) &&</Visible> <CustomDraw Name="fs9view:view" X="356" Y="340" Zoom="0.50" OffsetUp="-6" OffsetForward="-2" OffsetRight="1"/></Element> This is for FS9 and beware, fs9view:view is a real frame rate killer. If you use this, expect your rates drop down by a lot. Don't know of any other way though and no idea how to do this for FSX.Just modify the offset parameters to get the tail view - but if memory serves me right, you won't see your own aircraft...Hope this helps.
December 1, 201015 yr Author Thanks for this tip,I actually managed this before but as you said there is a problem with viewing the aircraft from outside. I don´t know how to change the wiew mode in this new view, because if you have 2D or VC mode, you are using different model so external model can´t be viewed but I think you can solve this by using External mode... Unfortunatelly I don´t know how to change this.FPS is another chapter but if there isn´t another way, I can handle this. Anyway thanks for your reply.Michal
December 2, 201015 yr There's an alternative way of doing this using FSRecorder, although it would mean dedicating your spot view to your custom position. One of FSRecorder's great features is that it allows the user to specify custom spot views. So for example for the Posky 777-200, you'd edit the custom setting in the Recorder/Advanced Spot Views/Edit Spot View menu item for distance 150 feet, height 57 feet, 180 degrees, which will put you just behind the tailfin of the 777. Clicking the tickboxes for turn and roll/bank with aircraft would then mean that your viewpoint would be fixed to the plane prientation as you flew, so you'd effectively be above the tailfin as you flew. Is this the kind of effect you were looking for?;)
