Changing Tail Numbers

Featured Replies

I tried to change the tail (registration) number for an add-on aircraft I recently downloaded, using the same procedure for changing stock FSX a/c tail numbers, but it didn't work. Is there a way to change tail numbers for add-on aircraft? Thanks.

If you mean for ATC use, then yes, you alter it in the config file under the heading 'atc_id='Al

Thanks Al, that helps. But what about changing the tail number on the plane itself so that it can be seen in spot view? Using the usual method, which works for the stock aircraft, it didn't work for the plane I downloaded from Carenado, the Piper Seneca. Anyway around this, to your knowledge? Thanks.

I normally paint that on the texture myself. Easy enough to do in any paint editing program that can handle DDS files, which if you need one for the job and don't have Photoshop, this will do: http://www.getpaint.net/Al

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
