October 25, 200322 yr Hello Guys, may be a stupid question, but on nvidia download page the newest detonator driver of the 50 series are not hosted for win98 me, but for win2000 xp.Anyone with information about this. Will there be a release for win98 me later on?Has anybody tried to install the drivers for win 98 me?With the the automatic installer the drivers could not be installed for win98 me, because released for win 2000.Is it possible to install the driver manually for win98 me?.Thanks in advance for your replys.Andreas
October 25, 200322 yr If you visit www.nvidia.com and insert your operating system for the latest WHQL drivers for Win98/ME, you will find it are the 45.xx Series. You could try installing the 56.12 Series but you may have problems.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
October 25, 200322 yr I would seriously not recommend installing drivers made for win2k/xp in a win98 invironment. I think you have to arm yourself with some patience till there will be a Forceware driver version out for Win98/ME. Hopefully only a few days or so :)
October 26, 200322 yr Hello Cargo,i think you are right to wait about the official release of the 52.16 driver for win98 me.But it seems a little bit surprising that nvidia released the new drivers for all window systems but not for win98 me up to now. Will hope it did not take a to long time to wait for the official one.By the way, did last evening something which i did not before.I got the 52.16 for 98 me from the inno website.(Beta driver. What surprise will it bring? Bad or Good?)Give them a try, because i can go back to official 40 series anyway.Yeah, at least it....works!!!! No bad issues.I could not see a improve of frame rate, but it solves my problem with black screen, when i chose the aircraft from the menu bar.Best to youAndreas
