app/land not in engaging

Featured Replies

Hi all it's been a while!I'm having an issue with the "app/land" not engaging right. I fly the "Vatsim community" and enjoy it very much.when I fly offline I have no problem only because I fly the sid/stars a lot right to the ils approach.when I fly with "Vatsim" online, most of the time they direct me by "hdg" when it gets close to the "ILS",that means disingageing the "FMC"stars and flying the "ATC" hdg. when I get to final usually around 3000ft I hit the App/Land" It then engages then reverts back to "hdg" mode after a second or three, and I can't seem to re engage it,without doing it manually :( Is there something I have to readjust in the"FMC" or what?If someone out there has any thoughts, this would be kindly appreciated....and u know who u are lol.Thank you James,

You don't have to use a STAR but you do still need to select the ILS runway you want to land on if you want the FMS to autotune the approach and give you proper flight direction. Alternatly, you can just use the Nav/Rad page of the FMS to ensure the ILS course and frequency is correctly set. Check the manual for details.

Paul Smith.

HI Paul!Sorry about the delay,I was out of town for a bit:) I am using the "nav/rad" when on approach but for some reason it still is dis engaging! I'll do some more touch and go's to see if maybe I'm not engaging properly.
