December 13, 201015 yr Hi all,Today I started a flight ( still in progress as I type this ) and setting up the aircraft, from cold and dark, at KJFK.After lighting everything up, and turning the IRU to align, I normally ( and have done so on many flights with the MF11) I select Initialize IRS on the F-Plan Initialize page and says "Not Allowed " .This was something I had not struck before. To fix this, I had to go into the REF page and inhibit the GNS, Initialize the IRS and go back and re enable the GNS.Does this happen when a fix cannot be obtained, or the old girl was having a bad day ?Your thoughts ?CheersJulian Evans

If you see it happen again come back to the forum and we'll have a bit of a troubleshoot.Cheers Mark Adeane - NZWN

The weather at KJFK was a bit hairy and just thinking that the MD11 is so accurate, that it really was having trouble obtaining a position fix.it has not done it since. I do use "Topcat for weight and balance but always send the dispatch info after the IRU has aligned. Will let you know if it does it again. Thanks for replying. CheersJulian
