October 27, 200322 yr Hi,Although this could probably be fixed with a new installation, I've got so many custom aircraft, scenery, tweaks etc that I'm hoping to avoid that. The trouble is that when creating a flight from scratch using the main menu, the weather setting I create under "Selected Weather" isn't used. Instead, it reverts to a 'default' weather setting each time. It's just impossible to create different weather pre-flight!The weather setting it reverts to seems to be from a previous flight (20mi vis/8kts wind etc.), and sticks no matter what else I select.I've erased the FS9.cfg, deleted saved flights and changed the default without success. Please help!Paul
October 27, 200322 yr Have you tried using the "clear skies" weather theme? This is supposed to clear out the weather, and usually when my FS2004 gets stuck, this fixes it. You've probably already tried this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it.
October 27, 200322 yr If the "clear skies" selection doesn't do it and you have at any time (recently) used Real World weather then the weather profiles are probably stuck. Read the following to "unstick" (or clear) the weather.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;320461EDIT: That link isn't working properly for some reason. Here's a copy of the fix:This article was previously published under Q320461 SYMPTOMSWhen you play Microsoft Flight Simulator and turn on the Real-World Weather feature, the weather in the game may either be incorrect or may stay the same every day. CAUSEThis issue may occur if your Temporary Internet Files folder contains old copies of the weather data files, and the files are not replaced with new information. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, empty your temporary Internet files folder before you turn on Real-World Weather. To do this, follow these steps: Quit Flight Simulator. Start Internet Explorer. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet files, and then click OK. Start Flight Simulator, and then open the flight that you want to fly. On the World menu, click Weather. Click to select the Local Weather check box, and then click Real-world weather. Click OK.Flight Simulator updates the weather to the current conditions for the flight's current location. To verify that the weather servers are up and running, visit the following Web site: http://fs2k.zone.com/. If you can connect to the Web site and view the Web site content, then the weather servers are operational.
