A mix of Winter and Summer textures while flying

Featured Replies

Hi! I don't usually post here, I mostly lurk the forums for advice, but I'm having a particular problem I've not seen covered before, so my apologies if I'm asking a stupid question here.last weekend, I was doing a fly between Atlanta and Dallas, it was snowing in Atlanta and all the ground textures looked completely covered in snow. However, after climbing past 5000 Ft. I noticed the ground textures started changing from snow to a 'summer like' green textures. This seemed to happen slowly (there were big squares green, while others remained white) after a while, everything was looking green! So, the question:1) Why is it that the 'texture' transition was happening so slow? is it because I use a LOD_RADIUS of 3.5?2) Why the 'change' from Winter to Summer at altitude? I was under the impression that textures will remain the same regardless of altitude! Thanks AVsim!

Hi,The seasonal textures are controlled by a file in FS and their transitions are also controlled by that file. Also keep in mind that tiles in FS are squares so in any transition area sometimes things can look kind of strange.
